How on Earth did I get here & how do I get back?!
Have you ever paused for a moment, looked at your life, and wondered, "How on Earth did my health get Here?" If you have, you are not alone!
We get so caught up with our everyday life: work, kids, and relationships, that we tend to forget about our own health and well-being. We put off taking 10 minutes a day for just "us", to be mindful, to take vitamins or supplements, to stretch, to make a healthier meal choice, to spend time outside in the sun, among so many other things! Before we know it, months or years have passed and we no longer feel, act, or look like ourselves. Then, we look at what it will take to get back to where we were and the path looks so daunting and, oftentimes, very confusing.

Where do you even begin?!
I'm biased, of course, so I would recommend starting with your body's foundation and ultimate control system. Start with your spine and brain!
"Why?", you ask.
Hear me out...
Your spine and skeleton are what allow you to stand upright and move, of course with assistance from your muscles. If we didn't have a spine, we'd fall over and our spinal cord would be exposed with no protection! Yikes! Now, your brain is what controls everything that happens in your body whether you are aware of it happening or not. If we didn't have a brain, we'd be a completely lifeless pile of matter on the floor.
Let's go deeper...hang with me!
Your skull and spine house and protect your brain and spinal cord, known as your Central Nervous System. This is incredibly important because the nervous system is your body's only way of communicating with itself and controlling the way everything functions within it. So, knowing that, we want to make sure that the nervous system is able to do it's job, right? You can bet your bottom dollar that's right!
Now, our spine has 24 different vertebrae, all of which are made to move as well as protect! Unfortunately, life's activities have a way of misaligning the vertebrae of the spine which in turn limits movement and puts pressure on the nervous system affecting it's ability to communicate effectively. Uh oh! Houston, we have a problem!
"Okay, so what now? How can that be fixed?"
Great question! This is where chiropractic adjustments come in. This is what we as chiropractors do, day in and day out. This is why we get up in the morning. We are able to realign the vertebrae that are misaligned so that the pressure is removed from the nervous system!
"Now, that just seems too simple. There must be more."
Of course, but it's still rather simple! We realign the spine. Your body will then do what it needs to do on it's own time. We can't rush that process! Sorry, Siri & Alexa, you can't help us here! Without getting too scientific, your body will begin the timely but innately precise healing process. Be patient here, my friend.
"So, I get my spine adjusted and my body starts to heal itself. What does my brain have to do with this?"
Your brain is what controls everything about the healing process, from beginning to end!

By realigning the spine, the communication between your brain and body is restored. We cannot ignore how we nourish the brain and what we nourish it with. Your brain needs certain nutrients to function optimally, and the reality is, the standard American diet just doesn't provide the much needed, essential nutrients the brain requires for optimum function. If you put good in, you get good out!
"I see. But, Doc, there is so much information out there that I wouldn't know what to start with! It stresses me out just thinking about it! Plus, I just don't know enough about this to know what to do."
Don't sweat it! That's why I am here! Together, we'll start with the bones and brains and work our way out. :) Inner balance is key to finding real, natural health. If I can't help you fully achieve maximum balance, you and I can collaborate with other healthcare professionals to attain it! You won't be left to figure this out by yourself, I promise! That just wouldn't be right! We are in this together!
So, to sum it up... We must adequately nourish your brain so it can function properly and form precise messages to send to your body, maintain proper spinal alignment so that the messages from your brain are sent and received without interference, and let your body do the rest. Make sense?
Keep in mind that these two things alone are not a magic bullet to achieving perfect health. Every individual's needs are different, therefore healing time and response time are also different. And, that's okay! One can never expect to have the same experience as another when it comes to healing.
Be well & stay blessed!
